Tyranus suggested that we make a break for it and i concurred but when we reached the front door now unpickably locked a ghoulish voice commanded me to kill him which i took to mean my companion the vigiliant of stendarr.
Search the abandoned house edit edit source entering the abandoned house about to enter the cellar area via door the house becomes alive telling the dragonborn to kill or be killed by the vigilant tyranus.
Vigilant tyranus a vigilant of stendarr will ask if you know anything about the house.
Once you kill the vigilant you should be able to make it down to where the mace is and get the next part of the quest after that the main door should be unlocked.
The only way to get into that house is with the stendarr dude.
After killing the manipulated vigilant the ominous voice of the house promises a reward for the deed down in the cellar cave.

If you engage in the initial conversation with vigilant tyranus but don t immediately follow him into the abandoned house or leave before you reach and interact with the lower door the door may become locked from the outside requires key making the quest impossible to complete.
